Earthquake Update

Dear Friends
When the 9.0 earthquake hit at 2:46 pm on Friday, March 11th, Kim was reading a book to Kindergartners and Phil was underground on a subway train. The shaking was intense and seemed to go on forever. About 12 hours later, our family was together again, thank God. Now 2 days later, in the hardest hit areas, the earth is settling, and the waters are receding. We're still feeling aftershocks, but we're not in immediate danger and Tokyo is about 150 miles from the damaged nuclear plants. We are so blessed by all the prayers lifted up on our family's behalf by those of you who know us and love us. Please continue to pray for those in Fukushima, Sendai and the surrounding areas.  If you would like to donate towards the relief efforts here in Japan, our mission will be accepting donations. Please make your donations payable to Team Expansion Tokyo and in the memo write 'earthquake'.  We will make sure that 100% of your donation goes to relief efforts in Japan. If you want to give to other trustworthy organizations, please write us atphilandkiminjapan@gmail.com and we can give you some recommendations. Thanks so much!  Love, Phil, Kim, Kayla, Seth and Christian Kornegay

Update: Since March of last year, we have been involved in several relief trips to Tohoku (Northern Honshu, Japan) to distribute supplies, assist in clean-up efforts and help other missionaries in the area. Kayla, our daughter, spent several days with her entire school class in one devastated coastal village. We are still accepting donations to be used in earthquake/tsunami relief efforts. We also recommend that you give to B1 Tohoku Aid. If you write us we will give you the address for Chad Huddleston who leads this effort. Thank you!
